11th International Conference on
Autonomous
Infrastructure, Management, and Security (AIMS

**********************************************************************

The AIMS International Conference on Autonomous
Infrastructure,
Management, and Security is a single-track event targeted at
junior
researchers and Ph.D. students in network and service management
and
security. It features a range of sessions including conference
paper
presentations, hands-on lab courses, and keynotes. The
objective of
AIMS is to offer junior researchers and Ph.D. students a
dedicated
place, where they can discuss their research work and
experience,
receive constructive feedback from senior scientists, and
benefit
from a number of practical hands-on sessions and labs on
emerging
technologies and Ph.D./research life-related topics. By putting
the
focus on junior researchers and Ph.D. students, AIMS acts
as a
complementary piece in the set of international conferences in
the
network and service management community, providing an
optimal
environment for in-depth discussions and networking.

AIMS 2017 will focus on the theme of security of networks and
services
in an all-connected world. With the rapid development of
advanced
communication and networking services, providing security,
reliability
and resilience while guaranteeing the best performance in a wide
range
of more complex, more dynamic and hyper-connected environments,
has
become crucial. To address these challenges, new paradigms, smart
and
fully distributed approaches, as well as scalable and
flexible
management solutions have to be investigated. The design,
monitoring,
configuration, and protection of the next generation of
networked
systems in an efficient, secure, and smart manner are
crucial to
commercially viable and successful networks and
services.

Scope and Topics:

Courses and Labs
AIMS 2017 features three hands-on lab sessions spread across its
four-
day program. They provide participants with the opportunity to
gain
first-hand experience with several state-of-the-art network
and
service management technologies and tools. Each lab session
starts
with a brief theoretical tutorial-style introduction and is
followed
by a hands-on part, allowing participants to experiment with the
tools
through a set of practical exercises. The first lab will focus
on an
introduction to security games. The second lab will present
how to
program smart contracts in blockchains. Finally, the third lab
will
explore P4, the emerging high-level data plane programing
language and
its applicability to packet processors.

Keynote, Conference, and Ph.D. Workshop
AIMS 2017 will feature two exciting keynotes, presenting
real-world
challenges for Telco Providers and concepts for cyber
resilience of
complex interdependent infrastructures: Prof. Dr. Marcel
Waldvogel
(University of Konstanz, Germany), who will discuss "Getting Rid
of IoT
Insecurity", and Dr. Matthias Bossardt(Lead Partner for Cyber
Security
at KPMG, Switzerland) who will share his view with the
audience on
"Cyber Security Challenges - A Business Perspective".
Moreover, the three technical sessions will present the latest
results
in Security Management, Evaluation and Experimental Study of
Rich
Network Services, as well as Management of Cloud Environments
and
Services. AIMS 2017 will also feature three short paper
presentations
covering Ph.D. research proposal discussions on the themes of
Methods
for the Protection of Infrastructure and Services, and Autonomic
and
Self- Management Solutions, as well as an overview of research
results
on the topic of Security, Intrusion Detection and Configuration.
