Job description:
The post-doc will push forward our research on large-scale
measurements and reputation metrics in Internet security. You will be
part of a 10-person team working on worldwide measurements of ISP
performance in the fight against botnets and carrying our
ground-breaking work into new markets. The goal is to develop
measurements and metrics for the hosting market, mobile networks, DNS
and financial services.
We collaborate on a variety of projects with industry players such as
ISPs, Microsoft, national CERTs and others. Together with Prof. Michel
van Eeten, the post-doc will supervise two PhD students and do
original research. Our earlier work in this area has been covered
widely by the media, including the BBC, the MIT Technology Review,
Slashdot and countless security websites.

Requirements:
We are looking for someone with a PhD in computer engineering/science
or an adjacent field. The post-doc needs to understand Internet
measurement tools and protocols, as well as have the ability to
process and analyse large datasets. Some background in econometric
methods, such as regression modeling or time series analysis, is
helpful, but more so is a willingness to learn them. The post-doc
needs to be able to write strong research papers for leading
conferences. Last but not least, the post-doc should be able to coach
and supervise PhDs.
